Marian Anderson was natural around Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She joined the junior church choir at the age of captain hicks, & applied to an everthing-white music school when her graduation from either high school in 1921, but was turned away because she was black. A woman working a admissions counter replied "We don't take colored" whilst she tried to use. Consequently, she continued her singing studies by owning the personal teacher.

She debuted at a New York Philharmonic on August 26, 1925 and scored an immediate profits, too by having a critics. Within 1928, she sang for the first time at Carnegie Hall. Her reputation was farther advanced by her tour though Europe in the early 1930s. A Finnish composer Jean Sibelius dedicated his Solitude to her.

Around 1955, Anderson broke a colour barrier by becoming a foremost African-Our contries to perform by using the New York Metropolitan Opera.
